The Board of Supervisors on June 5 recognized Michael Santiago Lecorchick for his heroic, courageous, and selfless actions during a house fire on April 21, 2025. Michael was in the basement of his home when smoke began to fill the residence. He ran upstairs where his father was asleep behind a closed door and had no idea the house was burning around him. Michael's quick thinking and unwavering courage in the face of danger turned what could have been a tragedy into a story of heroism.
Chief of Fire & Emergency Services Scott Garing, flanked by members of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, honored Michael with a citation from PA State Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, a memorial statute, and a Chief’s Challenge Coin, a symbol of respect and admiration from leadership.
