CTVFC was dispatched at 0402 on 3/15/19 to assist Big Knob Fire with a fully loaded tractor trailer on fire on the PA Turnpike at the 17.1 mile marker. CTVFC responded with 2 engines and manpower to assist with extinguishing the fire and water supply. Overall, 11 fire units were reportedly on the scene to assist with a trailer full of tobacco products that ignited after the rear breaks caught fire. Crews assisted with removal of product from the trailer to extinguish the fire, along with using saws to cut open the sides of the trailer to get ahead of the fire. CTVFC crews returned to station shortly before 0700.
