CTVFC has responded to three major fires in three days, two of which were in our first due area. First, Monday, 1/18, we responded to a confirmed working basement fire. CTVFC went enroute with units immediately and was assisted by other departments from the SAFER group, Allegheny County and Beaver County. On Wednesday evening, crews responded to a confirmed fire in the rear of a structure when a vehicle under a back patio caught fire. Again, we were assisted by our partners in the SAFER group and Allegheny and Beaver Counties. A few hours later, we assisted Big Knob in Beaver County with a working structure fire where our crews spent most of the overnight hours performing RIT duties and assisting with overhaul. Thank you to our mutual aid partners for the assistance and continued work to enhance and improve the SAFER program - our recent experiences prove it works!
