Structure fire

March 30, 2017

A fire burned most of a Cranberry Township home's interior Tuesday. Smoke started billowing from a single-story home on Sherwood Drive around noon. A mail carrier called it in to 911. Township police arrived on scene and ran inside to check for people and got them out. Fire crews from CTVFC, Adams Area Fire District, Callery, Big Knob, Harmony and Marshall Township were on the scene.
Firefighters did an interior attack and Captain Hayden found a cat and got him outside where he was found to be ok. The fire caused major damage to the home's roof and interior. The majority of the fire was put out about 30 minutes into the operation while crews remained on scene for about an hour to control hot spots. It is believed the fire started near the garage. However the investigation is not complete.
