9-11 Remembered - by the Next Generation!

September 17, 2016

Last Sunday at approximately 6:00 AM the members of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company gathered, as we do each year on September 11th, to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

In past years we have started our morning with the members meeting to raise our flag, say the pledge of allegiance, and play taps throughout the morning.

Our morning started a bit differently this year, as we were joined by two young ladies from Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School. These young ladies stopped by to thank us for the work we do, and dropped off some artwork they made to express their appreciation. They also visited our 9-11 memorial to learn more about the tragic events of 9-11-2001.

Instead of them thanking us, it is us that are thanking them. Thank you for stopping by to learn about the real heroes of 9-11 – the firefighters, police officers, EMT’s Paramedics, and everyday citizens! Thanks also go to your parents that got you up at 5:30 AM on a Sunday to come up and join us, and for teaching you the importance of 9-11. You are welcome at our station any time, as is anybody! Our memorial is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Never Forget!
